I have lived in Cumbria all my life, only a couple of miles from the border with Scotland in Hadrian's Wall country. I have always been involved in art and craft in some form having trained as a figurine painter; I also embroidered and painted on denim and leather jackets.

I started making my little people as gifts for my family and friends and had a great response from people that saw them. The first ones were my parents, and then my nieces appeared in their nursery nativity as angels so I made them figurines of themselves and then for their teachers.

I supplied a couple of local tourist attractions with models and they sold very well, so after the birth of my daughter in 2002,I decided to become self employed in order to spend quality time with my daughter and fulfill my ambition of making and selling my own unique Little People.

The response I have had so far has been overwhelming; obviously there are a lot of people out there with a similar sense of humour! I hope you have as much enjoyment from my Little People as I have from designing and making them.
